Visit by Extended Whānau
This month we hosted leading contemporary Māori artist and graphic designer Tyrone Ohia, of Extended Whānau, in Waikawa and Motueka as we begin work to shape our visual identity and the ways in which we engage with members.
Over the coming months, whānau, trustees and kaimahi will work with Tyrone as we embark on our next stage of growth.
A trip to Kura Te Au was followed by a visit to Aunty Linda’s in Waikawa - Tyrone is a nephew of Aunty Linda and the late Monte.
In Motueka, Tyrone and his Extended Whānau team, studio manager Kaye Reihana and design assistant Max Quinn-Tapara, were welcomed onto Te Āwhina Marae and spent time connecting with the whānau there.
We all left feeling excited about the mahi, but also thankful for the opportunity to connect and get to know one another.
