Pukapuka launch
Waitohi Awa has long held great significance to our iwi, so it was with great pride we recently attended the launch of a new pukapuka Our Sacred Stream - The Mighty Waitohi by iwi member Lianne Adams at Waikawa Marae.
Lianne is a kaiako at Picton School and the book is a re-telling of the historical significance of the awa for Te Ātiawa, accompanied by beautiful artwork by Tui Johnson. What an awesome resource for locals to learn more about their hometown.
The book is for sale at Te Whare Pukapuka o Waitohi - The Picton Bookshop - on High St and all money raised from sales of the book will go to Picton School. A big mihi to Lianne and Tui, Picton School and also to Port Marlborough, who came on board as a sponsor.
