Children's Team Support Manager (Marlborough)

 

About the team: 
Oranga Tamariki is transforming how we support tamariki, their families and whānau.   We will be developing new approaches to Early Intervention soon.  Right now our Children’s Teams play a key role in the coordination of services for tamariki and their whānau in the community.  We will be transitioning Children’s Teams to new approaches in Early Intervention in the future.  

 

The impact you will make:
We are seeking Children’s Team Support Managers for a fixed term of one year to lead the operational day to day functions of our Children’s Team while we transition this service.  In this role you will be responsible for leading our teams who coordinate the facilitation of services for tamariki, their families and whānau as well as:

 

  • Work in partnership with the wider Services for Children and Families group, and with other agency leaders, providers and the local community.
  • Ensure the effective operation of systems and procedures resulting in quality outputs.
  • Ensure quality assurance systems and mechanisms that demonstrate adherence to national standards and local design principles.
  • Lead a high performing team.
  • Build solid trusting relationships with agency leaders and the community. 
  • Effectively oversee the implementation of initiatives within a complex, fast paced and changing environment.


Skills and experience:

  • A background working in complex operational service environments, ideally in care and protection, child health and/or education services. 
  • Experience overseeing the implementation of initiatives.
  • Experience working with a range of external stakeholders, including Iwi.
  • A history of delivery and achievement on significant programmes of work, in a cross agency environment.
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance and risk management.
  • Strong people management experience with the ability to coach and mentor.
  • Track record of managing performance aligned to desired outcomes and driving continuous improvement.
