Whakapapa Committee Member EOI
E kore e hekeheke, he kākano rangatira…
We are now seeking expressions of interest from registered whānau members who can contribute and commit to the critical function of our Whakapapa Committee for at least a three-year term. As one of three committee’s reporting directly to the Trust Board, the Whakapapa Committee supports the verification and recommendation of iwi membership applications in line with our Trust Deed and contributes to our overall whakapapa knowledge as an iwi.
What are we looking for?
- A strong connection to, and a genuine interest in preserving and advancing, our iwi whakapapa.
- Demonstrated or lived knowledge of tikanga Māori, iwi history, whakapapa processes or related mātauranga.
- Commitment and capacity to participate effectively, including regular attendance at hui and timely review of membership applications.
- Ability to contribute to a balanced Committee with diverse perspectives and representation across the rohe, hapū, uri, age, gender and geographic spread.
- Past engagement with Te Ātiawa and/or a clear willingness to engage actively going forward.
