Production Supervisor
Port Nicholson Fisheries LP is one of the largest exporters of live lobster [crayfish] in New Zealand with a reputation for consistently delivering a high quality product to our customers throughout the world.
Due to an internal promotion, we are looking for a Production Supervisor to assist the Plant Manager at our new Auckland facility. This is a full time salaried position responsible for all aspects of running a live lobster exporting operation while helping to ensure our Health and Safety standards are maintained and responsibilities met. The role also includes overseeing the maintenance and cleaning of equipment within the facility.
The nature of fishing means that the work involves irregular and at times long hours, reflected within the offered salary. The position involves coordinating and managing a small team of salaried and casual staff.
We are looking for a dynamic person with attributes such as:
• Supervision and/or management experience
• Good communication skills – both written and oral
• Intermediate level of computer competency
• Ability to ensure optimal productivity by seeking out process and efficiency improvement practices and presenting these to management
• Maintaining effective and positive staff engagement
• Demonstrated practice in leading staff by example and being prepared to take a hands-on approach to all aspects of production when required
• Physically fit and willing to lead as well as perform all aspects of production when required
• Highly organised and a capable planner, with the ability to adapt to a flexible workplan when necessary
• Practically-minded, with a solution-focused approach to overcoming problems

Where you may have some of the above experience but not all, training will be provided to bring you up to the required standard.
