Te Ātiawa o Te Waka a Māui Trust will like to announce that we have updated our merchandise and they will be soon available for purchase.

Tēnā koutou te whānau. Our first waka tangata has arrived from Christchurch with the second waka due at the end of this month.
We are now looking at the process of blessing and what that may look like. We will get back to you regarding this.
As most whānau are engaged on Saturday sports we will be having Hui on Sundays which suit the majority. Hui will be held on the following dates in the Training rooms at Waikawa mārae
- 11/9
- 25/11
- 1/9
We are calling for all Te Ātiawa whānau to come and be a part of making history. This is the chance to stand in the foot steps of our Tīpuna and be who we truely are.
The waka is filling up fast so come along Sunday and be a part of making history.

A huge thank you to all whānau who submitted applications towards the Berths Trainee on Board offer as part of the Flotilla and Tōtaranui 250.
A opportunity of a life time to sail on a Tahitian waka haurua from Doubtless bay to Meretoto on a 10 day journey
The Trust would like to congratulate Erin Bunt and Utuku Thompson, the successful recipients of being on board Haunui.

We will be holding wānanga soon during the week to support our waka tāngata crew. We will look at safety, purpose and training times. Keep an eye on the Picton Resource board and the Te Ātiawa Trust website for details

Te Ātiawa nō runga i te Rāngi, Te Ātiawa nō runga i te Tauihu o Te Waka a Māui
Tōtaranui 250 is on this November 21st-26th in Picton. Te Ātiawa Trust is calling for interested registered Iwi members who want to know more about participation.
There will be an opportunity to be involved with Haka Pōwhiri, Kaiwero and Waka Tāngata however numbers are extremely limited.
Also a chance to be on board one of the Tahitian waka Haurua for a ten day trip from Mangonui (Doubtless bay) sailing into Meretoto (Ships Cove)
