We’re excited to be expanding our Te Kāhui Whiria Māori Partnerships team with this new and exciting part-time (20 hours per week) fixed term opportunity as Kaituitui Ahurea, Events Coordinator.
Reporting to the Kaihautū, Manager Māori Partnerships, you’ll support Te Tai Ihu o te Waka a Maui Māori Cultural Council to ensure the upcoming Kapa Haka events at a national level are a success.
Your work programme will include:
- Project and event co-ordination covering the full spectrum of event planning including health and safety, accommodation, parking and traffic, resource consents, city activation, media and more.
- Promoting cultural awareness and Kapa Haka in the region and ensuring appropriate protocols are observed at the events.
- Relationship management and collaboration with internal groups, iwi and key stakeholders.
- Administrative support in the form of project documentation, reports and presentations to Te Tau Ihu o Te Waka a Māori Cultural Council Executive, as well as meeting coordination and purchase order/invoice management.
This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a practitioner of tikanga and mātauranga Māori to combine your passion for Kapa Haka with your proven event and project management experience. Your extensive iwi network and experience working with Māori groups will be invaluable in this role.
You’re a self-starter who thrives on delivering great results on time, on budget and to a high standard. Excellent organisational and administrative skills are essential, as well as experience working with the full suite of Microsoft Office programmes.
