Kōrero Mātauranga - Education conversation
Below is a link for you and anyone else who has an interest in New Zealand Education to have your say. Please share this far and wide whānau, put it in your pānui, share it on facebook, add it to your website too.
The Minister of Education Chris Hipkins wants to hear from a wide range of New Zealanders about the education system of the future. He’d like this national Education Conversation to set the way forward and agree shared priorities across the whole system – from early learning, schooling and tertiary through to lifelong learning.
As part of the national Education Conversation two Summit events will be held, one in Christchurch (5/6 May) and one in Auckland (12/13 May). The events are at weekends, which is more convenient for the wide range of New Zealanders expected to participate.
The Minister will be inviting people who represent the wide cross-section of New Zealanders that he wants to hear from.
After the Summit, there will be a series of regional opportunities, hui and fono - timings of these to be confirmed. These will mean that communities can carry on the conversation and the sharing of ideas at a local level.
The ideas and information that we gather from the survey below, the Summit events and the wider Education Conversation will guide the Government’s development of its work programme for education.
