Specialist Kaumātua Kaimahi Position

Te Hauora O Ngāti Rarua

Te Hauora o Ngati Rarua is a Maori health and Whanau Ora provider delivering health services to the Māori community of Marlborough, under a Whanau Ora framework. We are seeking a full-time Specialist Kaumatua Kaimahi to join our dedicated team on a fixed term contract.

This role has a focus on supporting access to services for Kaumatua and whanau.

You will be responsible for the following: Consultation with kaumātua and their whānau, be an active advocate in establishing any referrals to services and agencies as required, and to support the aspirations of Kaumātua.

 

Our ideal candidate has:

• An understanding of the Whanau Ora Framework and the ability to engage and gain confidence of Kaumatua and whanau.

• Knowledge of local iwi, agencies and community organisations in the community that serve Kaumatua.

• A background in actively partaking in and facilitating resources, and information for Kaumatua/whānau that are relevant, practical and tailored for their needs.

• Excellent knowledge of MS office, word processing and great communication skills You will be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.

 

You will have the ability to perform efficiently under pressure and have a calm nature that makes you able to empathise with others and be commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti O Waitangi.
