BLAKE Ambassador Applications are now open.

Since 2007 BLAKE, in partnership with Antarctica New Zealand, NIWA, Tara Expeditions Foundation and the Department of Conservation - has provided opportunities for young New Zealanders (18 – 25 years) to work on projects in Antarctica, the Southern, Southwest Pacific and Atlantic Oceans and New Zealand through the BLAKE Ambassador Programme. These BLAKE Ambassadors have worked alongside teams of scientists, conservationists, engineers and conservators on environmental and heritage restoration projects to advance our understanding and address some of the big environmental questions and challenges facing society.
This year there will be 10 BLAKE Ambassador Awards in partnership with Antarctica New Zealand, GNS Science, NIWA, and the Department of Conservation.
The NIWA aquaculture project, NIWA freshwater project developing novel marae and rural property wastewater treatment, the DOC Kākāpō Supplementary Feeding Programme on Whenua Hou / Codfish Islandand Takahē Feedout Project – Burwoodmay be of particular interest to young Māori.

Regional Predator Control Coordinator – Tasman Environmental Trust, fixed term, part-time position.
Are you passionate about the Tasman region and looking after our native wildlife? Are you a team player with an interest in supporting others to achieve excellent results? Tasman Environmental Trust is seeking a Regional Predator Control Coordinator to join our team. We are looking for a big picture thinker with an interest in strategy, excellent communication skills, and a practical can-do attitude. We support flexible working arrangements.
Tasman Environmental Trust was established in 2000 and is committed to connecting people to nature conservation in their communities. TET has a small team of committed staff and a massive team of enthusiastic volunteers.

Applications for Wave Ten ORA funding open on Monday 19 August 2019 and close on Sunday 22 September 2019 (12 noon).

*Written applications must be completed on the official application form and submitted via email to wavefunding@teputahitanga.org by the closing date Sunday 22 September or they can be delivered to 10 Show Place by Friday 20 September 2019 (no later than 12 noon).
All supporting documents must accompany your application. Please use your first and last name as the subject of your email.

The Team: What we do
The CDHB are leading the way to ensure health and wellbeing considerations are integrated across all sectors including all policy development and we are looking for a Health in All Policies Adviser to join the team.
Based in our Community & Public Health office in Christchurch, we are a small team, dedicated to working with iwi, leaders, stakeholders and policy makers using a Health in All Polices framework.
You’ll spend your time liaising with CDHB staff as well as key stakeholders within other sectors such as local government, Non-Government organisations and government agencies. Your ability to analyse complex information, write reports, facilitate meetings, coordinate joint pieces of work, and your networking skills will be put to good use in this exciting role.

In this role, you will be responsible for:
You’ll need to be a great team player but you’ll also need to use your initiative to champion this way of thinking. Your ability to form mutually beneficial relationships and communicate new ideas is essential.
- To provide support for the development and coordination of submissions for Community and Public Health and the wider DHB
- To build and maintain working relationships with key organisations that influence and or impact on public health
- To support capacity building activities to support a health in all policies framework both internally and externally
- Support the use and roll out of Health in all Policies tools and methodologies e.g. Health Impact Assessment, especially in relation to earthquake recovery.
- Lead the process of developing clear communications about Health in all Policies both within the DHB and external agencies.
Your skills will include:
Essential:
- Relevant tertiary qualification
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities
- Demonstrated ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders and deliver collaborative outcomes
- Proven experience in current facilitation methods
- Experience in developing and managing projects
- Well developed communication skills
- Proven writing skills in a range of formats, i.e. reports, newsletters, submissions.
- Demonstrated analytical skills
- Demonstrated self starter
- Proven experience in working across sectors
- Experience working in a bicultural framework
This is a full time, fixed term position covering parental leave until end August 2020.
