Letter to Members from the Phone Tree Team

Tēnā koe

We are part of the Te Ātiawa o te Waka-a-Māui Phone Tree Team.   The reason we have made contact with you is to see how you and your whānau are coping during the Covid-19 Pandemic Lockdown.

Are you struggling to put food on the table, or have you found that you are facing an impossible dilemma with your electricity, gas, firewood or phone?

There are a lot of our members - through no fault of their own - making, who are finding themselves between a rock and a hard place. Particularly now due to Aotearoa’s defense strategy against Covid-19 possibly causing the loss of employment or a reduced income.

Know that your Trust is here to help you if you need it.

Don’t be embarrassed or afraid to ask.   Please contact one of us on the following details if you need assistance.

Please Text, call or email if you live:

Remember, it doesn’t matter what Alert Level Aotearoa is at, we all still have to be vigilant and limit our interactions with others.   It is still the country’s, the Iwi, and our best defense against COVID-19.

We must continue to stay in our household bubbles whenever we are not at work, school, buying the groceries or exercising.   No-one knows how long and to what extent this pandemic will go on for and its full impact on the people.

To give yourself and your whānau a good chance to stay safe and well at every alert level, don’t forget to keep applying the following measures.

    • Regularly disinfect surfaces
    • Wash and dry your hands thoroughly and regularly
    • Don’t touch your face
    • Stay home if you are sick
    • Get tested for COVID-19 if you have flu like symptoms – call your GP or Healthline
    • Continue to seek primary medical care.

While this Crisis continues, your Trust encourages you to visit the Te Ātiawa website for updates.

Be assured your Trust is on standby to support you through these challenging times.

In the meantime, please take extra care of yourself, your whānau, your friends and neighbours and be kind to others, especially at this very trying time.

Although the daily numbers of Kiwis reported to be infected appear to be dropping, we are not out of the woods yet.
