Brendon has been a self–employed consultant for the past 10 years. Brendon has successfully completed work for private sector, public sector and non-government organisation, including Statistics NZ, the Ministry of Education, the Whanganui Iwi Education Authority - Te Puna Mātauranga o Whanganui and Māori Social Service Provider – Ngā Tai o te Awa Trust. Brendon has had direct involvement with the negotiations and completion of the Whanganui River Settlement.
