Te Pūtahitanga o Te Waipounamu is the Whānau Ora Commissioning Agency for the South Island. Te Pūtahitanga o Te Waipounamu works on behalf of the nine iwi of Te Waipounamu to determine the best ways to support whānau. The commissioning agency model contributes to realising the power of Whānau Ora by developing strategies based on four guiding principles:

  • Kotahitanga - collaborative approach to integrated solutions and delivery
  • Kāinga focus - local solutions. Whānau initiated solutions are best.
  • Panoni hou - innovation through investing in new solutions, encouraging social innovation and entrepreneurship to incentivise new services, new approaches and integrated solutions
  • Kōkiritanga - partnering for success


In this role you will work with the Te Pūtahitanga o Te Waipounamu team to collect, collate, and analyse data from agencies, surveys and research reports along with managing and administering the data relevant to the commissioning framework. Interpret analysis and report findings in such a way as to describe the impact of a diverse commissioning approach to multiple stakeholders.
As well as providing data analysis against the achievement of key organisational performance commitments and developing tailored reports that meet the needs of business outcomes within Te Pūtahitanga o Te Waipounamu

 
Responsibilities include:

  • Data entry, manipulation and analysis techniques and ability to apply logic and problem-solving skills to utilise and connect data sets.
  • Present analysis in a digestible format for stakeholders, to enable accessible insights and “self-service” where possible.
  • Create and test reporting tools to manage initiative performance
  • Develop, oversee and monitor Survey Monkey database and ensure this is maintained
  • Implement and maintain reporting mechanisms that report performance to senior management and the General Partnership Limited Board
  • Assist the Te Pūtahitanga team with quarterly and annual reporting


You will have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification or related work experience
  • Demonstrated confidence in data manipulation and management across the MS office suite
  • Knowledge of, or a willingness to learn te reo Māori and tikanga which is necessary as part of the role.
  • Knowledge of Results Based Accountability.
  • Familiarity with Power BI.
  • Experience with NVivo and SPSS an advantage.
  • Experience generating performance measures and producing reports for external stakeholders.

In this busy part time role, you will provide HR support to the Senior Leadership team with the objective of maximizing staff satisfaction and therefore operational efficiency. Using HR best practice and current employment regulations maintain accurate HR records, provide recruitment and performance management advice to ensure we are getting the best from our team.

The Human Resources Advisor will play a key role in supporting staff to access the appropriate professional development to align with a Whānau Ora, therefore an understanding of the commissioning model being whanau centred whanau focused approach would be essential to be effective in this position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Review of HR processes and advice senior management on policies and consistent implementation
  • Input into effective employee management strategies and processes.
  • Provide thorough and staged recruitment processes and advice
  • Support the finance team with the effective administration of the payroll process.
  • Support the senior leadership team to develop and implement a framework of professional development for all employees.
  • Investigate options to enable staff to acquire competence and confidence in working with whanau
  • Input into the H&S strategy to ensure a safe working environment for all
  • Act as a role model to all staff, communicating and gaining acceptance of our vision, goals and organisational values.


You will have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification or related work experience
  • An effective communication style
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Employment Relations Act, and related legislation to ensure HR best practice
  • Ability to develop and deliver new HR initiatives and programmes of work
  • A commitment and alignment to a diverse and inclusive culture for both staff and members
  • Knowledge of the commissioning model and Whānau Ora would be a definite advantage.
  • Proven leadership and relationship management skills.
  • Strong analytical skills – able to think clearly, define problems well, gather all necessary information to analyse issues and produce thorough, objective and sound advice
  • Competency in Te Reo Maori me ona tikanga and a willingness to develop these
