A fantastic opportunity to work in sunny Blenheim, Marlborough. Our experienced and motivated Maori Responsiveness team covers Nelson Bays, Marlborough and the West Coast of Tasman District. This position holds the responsibility to work with local Iwi in the Marlborough area and to drive Our Business alongside the Maori Responsiveness Manager. Applications are sought from a highly motivated, enthusiastic, community focused person who is a good communicator, solutions focused and will thrive on building partnerships and delivering a quality policing service.

 You will be working within the Maori Responsiveness roopu, performing Prevention Duties within the Marlborough area. The successful applicant will get a great deal of job satisfaction from seeing the difference you will make in our community both at the ground level and at an executive level.

 Skills required - you will be able to:

  • Provide an effective and appropriate response to victims
  • Demonstrate an ability to build partnerships, particularly with Iwi to help deliver on Our Business and Turning of the Tide
  • Identify and solve local problems in consultation with the community
  • Adapt style and approach to the individual or situation
  • Recognise and respond to individual differences and diversity

 Experience required - you will have:

  • A knowledge of Tikanga Maori is preferred but not essential, however a desire to further learning in this area including learning Te Reo Maori is essential
  • Experience and a desire to work with the community and to implement turning of the tide initiatives
  • Identify problems and implement sustainable solutions

Certification Requirements:

  • PITT (Police Integrated Tactical Training) Certificate
  • PCT (Physical Competency Test)
  • Custodial Management Certification
  • First Aid Certificate
  • PITT Level 1
  • Professional Police Driver Programme: Gold
